Samsung has started to roll out latest security patch update for Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Active smartphones. The firmware is now available for U.S units that are working under AT&T network. The new software will update the security patch level of all these handsets to December 1 2017. Along with this patch it also adds Mobile Hotspot APN support, tweaks the network performance and fixes the BlueBorne security issue.
For Galaxy S6 users the update will arrive with the build number G920AUCU6EQK3 and the download size will range from 471 MB – 521 MB. Next Galaxy S6 Edge, the build number for this handset is G925AUCU6EQK3. The update file size will weigh in 397 MB – 437 MB. Last one S6 Active (at&t’s exclusive model), which receives the update with the build number G890AUCU6DQK3. For this model the download size weighs in 389 MB – 429 MB.
The carrier has confirmed the roll out will happen in phases via FOTA. All these updates are weighs in nearly 0.5 GB, so use WiFi network to download this update. The data connection with weak signal will lead to download and installation error.
