Essential Phone updated with February 2018 security patch

Essential has surprised its fans by releasing the February 2018 security patch for Essential Phone (PH-1) users. Two days back Google has posted the OTA & Factory images of February security patch for pixel and nexus devices. Unlike Xiaomi (seeding beta update to Mi A1), Essential phone is pushing the stable version of February patch for their users.

The latest security update for Essential Phone PH-1 will arrive with the build number NMK24B. This firmware also didn’t weigh too much, it’s just 64.7 MB. You may’ve noticed from the screenshot, the software update has been rolled out through OTA. You can use wifi or mobile data connection to download this software update. If the automatic OTA didn’t knock your device door means, you need to check for the update manually from Settings menu.

However this handset still runs on Nougat 7.1.1 os and oreo update is in beta stage. Recently Essential Phone has affirmed that they’ll directly release the android 8.1 oreo, instead of android 8.0.
