Galaxy S7/S7 Edge Indian variants getting October security patch

Samsung is now seeding October month security patch for Indian units of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. As the November month is going to end, just now they’ve started the October security patch roll out. Apart from the security update, it doesn’t bring any other new features. But it will improve the device stability and perform bug fixes.


For S7 and S7 Edge the update will arrive with new software version – G930FXXU1DQJ8 and G935FXXU1DQJ8. At first the update has released for S7, but it’s also available for S7 Edge too. The download size of security patch for S7 Edge will be 420.51 MB. They were rolling out this heavy file through OTA.

So try to download this big file with WiFi or uninterrupted network connection. Before downloading, charge your device battery at least or above 50 percent. If the automatic OTA is not available for your device, then you can check for manual update from Settings menu. Also you can download the OTA firmware as zip from third party sites and flash it on your device.
