For the past few days, Samsung users are receiving the latest security patches in U.S. In addition to this line-up they’ve released October month patch for T-Mobile powered Galaxy S8 and S8+ handsets. This update is already live in U.S and also installed by many users. The new firmware will update the software versions of Galaxy S8 and S8+ to G950USQU1AQJ8 and G955USQU1AQJ8.
The update screenshot also confirms the download size – 155.46 MB (S8) and 151.98 MB (S8+). After installing this update you can check the android security patch level which will be updated to October 1 2017. The firmware not only includes security patch it will also enhance the system stability, bug fixes and other performance tweaks.
If you own this device then you’ll receive the automatic OTA notification. Probably the OTA roll out will take some time to reach all devices. If you can’t wait try to initiate the manual update from Settings > Software update > Download updates manually. Alternatively you can download the ROM from third party sites and flash it on your device.
