HTC 10 (Unlocked) now getting July security patch in US

That’s great HTC has started to push July month security patch update for HTC 10 smartphone. But this update is currently available for U.S unlocked model. Along with security patch, it will also tweak device performance and fixes the known bugs. This new firmware will update the software version of this handset to 2.51.617.1. The security update also weighs very big 636.15 MB.

The company is now sending this update in U.S via OTA. You may have notice the download size so use wifi connection to avoid errors or disconnection. HTC also recommend the users to download the update with wifi network. If you use mobile data it may lead to some additional charges. If you’d like to initiate the update manually then go to Settings > About device > Software update. It’s just a security update so it will delete any of your important or personal files. Sadly HTC didn’t roll out any security update in Europe still it’s in January month patch. We don’t know when the HTC will turn their heads towards Europe.
