HMD Global has surprised the Nokia 2 smartphone users by rolling out the January 2018 security patch update. Recently they’ve released this same update for Nokia 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 handsets. This update not only carries the January patch, also tweaks the user interface and enhances the system stability. The major work of January 2018 patch is to spot and resolve the Spectre and Meltdown issues on this device.
However this latest firmware update weighs in 327.7 MB, which is little bit large. They were gradually pushing this software update via OTA. Nokia also intimates the user downloading update via mobile data may lead to addition costs. So use the trusted internet connection to download this OTA update.
Waiting for a long time and still didn’t receive the OTA, then tap the Settings menu and choose System updates option. It will check for software updates whether it’s available for your handset or not. You will be notified if the update is available for you, otherwise wait for the automatic OTA prompt.
