June patch released for Galaxy A5 (2016) and A7 (2016) in India

Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 2016 editions are now receiving new software update in India. This firmware will update the android security patch level of both handsets to June 1 2017. The release notes notify that the critical security vulnerability will be fixed by this patch. It also installs the facebook app and optimizes the overall performance of this device. The new update will arrives in less than 40MB.


As per the policy, once updated to June month security the users can’t revert to previous version. The june patch includes fixes for 96 Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures (CVE) in android os and 23 vulnerabilities in Samsung software. The update will be rolled out in batch-wise via regular OTA. If you’re using the A5 (2016) or A7 (2017) in India, connect your device to internet and wait for the software update. Otherwise you can start the manual update from Settings > About device > Download updates manually.
