LG G Vista from Verizon receives android 5.1.1 lollipop update

Verizon wireless officially rolled out Android 5.1.1 update for LG G Vista smartphone users in USA. It was launched in verizon on August 2014. The carrier skipped the android 5.0 update and directly updates this smartphone from android kitkat to android 5.1.1 lollipop os. The software update will be available to download for G Vista mobile users via OTA (over-the-air) update. It will update the software version to VS88023A.

This firmware update also has security patch to fix the Stagefright bug in android. You need to wait for until the carrier provides the android lollipop update notification. For manual update checking, go for settings > about phone > software update.
