Meizu M5 with Yun OS and fingerprint sensor officially unveiled

Today Meizu debuts their new Yun OS powered smartphone in China – Meizu M5. This flagship mobile has CNC cutting finish polycarbonate body with light weight design. It will be available in different colors – mint green, sapphire blue, matte black, champagne gold and glacier white. The company also reveals the launch price of this handset at the announcement. The price of 16GB and 32GB versions in China is 699 yuan (Rs. 6,890) and 899 yuan (Rs. 8,860). The pre-registration is now open for this smartphone in China. Meizu didn’t mention the exact release date but we can expect this mobile in November first week.


The meizu m5 has 5.2-inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass finish. It equipped with Mediatek MT6750 chipset and octa core processor. It runs on new Yun OS 5.1 with custom Flyme 5.5 UI. It will be available in two variants 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. Both models support expandable microSD card (up to 128GB).

It houses 13MP back camera with PDAF sensor and 5MP selfie camera. It also has fingerprint sensor (mTouch 2.1) which can unlock the device in 0.2 seconds. It preloaded with wifi (dual band), bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE, infrared sensor, GPS and more connectivity features. The device 3070 mAh battery allow the users to play 9 hrs of game and 6 hrs of music.
