Mozilla and Samsung are teaming up to develop a next generation browser engine called Servo. The browser is being built by using “Rust” Mozilla’s code language at version .6. According to Mozilla, it takes advantage of ARM architecture coming with “faster, multi-core, heterogeneous computing architectures”. According to the Mozilla Servo is an attempt to rebuild the Web browser from the ground up on modern hardware, rethinking old assumptions along the way. This means addressing the causes of security vulnerabilities while designing a platform that can fully utilize the performance of tomorrow’s massively parallel hardware to enable new and richer experiences on the Web.
Both have decided to put resources into the project . There is no information about the availability of the software. They decided to bring the Servo browser to Android and ARM. Mozilla is currently working on getting Firefox OS out.
