Samsung Galaxy A3 and A8 mobiles receives security patch update

As per the schedule Samsung has rolled out the Marshmallow update to some galaxy smartphones. Now the Galaxy A3 and A8 (2015) smartphones are receiving the minor software update. But they didn’t provide the android marshmallow update its just android security patch update for these devices. The galaxy a8 (a800f) handset will receive the latest April 2016 security patch update. This firmware will update the baseband version to A800FXXU1APD1.

For galaxy a3 the security update is now available in Europe only. Unlike galaxy a8, it will update android security patch to March (2016) month and baseband version to XXU1BPC2. Not only security patch it also includes stability enhancements and bug fixes. Soon they will release the security update globally.


This patch updates are already rolled out to galaxy a3 and a8 mobiles. The official update will reach your handsets through OTA (over-the-air) update. You can manually check for this security update from Settings > About device > Software update. By using Samsung Smart Switch you can also check for the update on system.

However both smartphones galaxy a3 and a8 are still running on android lollipop os. In future Samsung will unveil the android 6.0.1 marshmallow for the galaxy a series smartphones.
