Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge getting Nougat update in US

Wait is over! Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (G935U) Unlocked models are finally receiving Nougat Update in US. Unlocked users are longly awaited for this software update, now their waiting comes to an end. The nougat firmware is now available to download via Smart Switch; it’s not comes through regular OTA. It has been confirmed by a user on Samsung U.S community. According to the report, the nougat 7.0 os upgrade for S7 Edge weighs in 2,264 MB (around 2.2GB).


It will also update the android security patch level to April 1 2017. Other features are new performance modes, redesigned UX, notification bundle, Multi window, improved quick settings, enhanced Always-On Display (AOD), newly added Samsung Pass feature and more. Some apps will not compatible with Nougat OS, upgrading the apps to latest version will fix this error.

The os update is not available for galaxy s7 (non-edge model). And also there’s no word about OTA roll out for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. If you’re in US and own S7 Edge unlocked unit then connect it to Smart Switch and check for the manual update. If your device is eligible and prompt for software update, download & install it.
