Verizon HTC 10 getting Android 8.0 Oreo update

Finally Verizon wireless has begun to push Android 8.0 Oreo update for HTC 10 users in USA. This surprise roll out has freezed the HTC 10 users, because they were waiting for a long time for this update. Verizon has also officially updated the HTC 10 oreo changelog at their support page. According to this page, the android oreo update for HTC 10 arrives with new software version 3.18.605.13.


The user who received the software update notification has shared the screenshots on reddit forum. As you may have noticed from the image, the carrier is pushing this major firmware update via OTA in stages. But the download size of this oreo update is not yet known. It also brings January 1st 2018 android security patch for this handset.

The android oreo for HTC 10 includes picture in picture mode, improved notification controls, auto fill notification dots, optimized power usage for background apps and more. Apart from this it may also fix the known bugs and improves the system stability. To check for the software update manually, go to Settings > System Update and tap the Check for new System update option. Before downloading the update charge you battery above 50% and connect your device uninterrupted connection like Wifi.
