Verizon rolling out July security patch for Galaxy S7/S7 Edge

After T-Mobile, the Verizon carrier is now updating the S7 and S7 Edge handsets with July security patch. The carrier confirmed this roll out by updating the changelog at the support page. The security firmware is now hitting galaxy s7 with new version G930VVRU4BQG1. The software version for galaxy s7 edge will be in G935VVRU4BQG1. The july security update will fix the CVE and other security issues with latest patch file.


With that the update will also enhance email app performance for Knox Business and Enterprise users. Previously this app has responds slowly within Knox because of multiple security process. Now they have overcome this issue in this new update. Verizon will send this firmware update to S7 and S7 Edge users via OTA. The automatic notification will be displayed if your device has been connected to internet. Otherwise you need to initiate the update manually from Settings menu.
