As scheduled, Xiaomi has launched a new budget level smartphone in Indian market and named as Redmi Y2. It’s the rebranded version on Redmi S2 which was released in China on May 2018. Apart from the naming, the hardware specs of Redmi Y2 are similar to Redmi S2. From June 12 onwards, the Redmi Y2 will exclusively go for sale in India at amazon.in and mi.com. The launch price of 3GB and 4GB versions in India will be Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 12,999.
The Redmi Y2 comes with 5.99-inch HD+ display, 18:9 aspect ratio, runs on android 8.1 oreo os with custom MIUI 9.5, equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset and octa core processor which clocks at 2GHz. It arrives in two variants 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB, additionally this device houses dedicated slot for microSD card (expandable up to 256GB).
Coming to camera, it has 12MP + 5MP dual main cameras at back and 16MP A.I powered selfie camera at front. Other included features are rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor (remote control), Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, 4G LTE, Micro USB 2.0 and more. It packed with 3080 mAh non-removable battery and supports 5V/2A fast charging. It will be available in three optional colors gold, grey and rose gold.
